Time to celebrate - Bikes4Mission is 6 months old!

Welcome to the First Newsletter update from Bikes4Mission

May of this year saw us becoming a registered charity, in June we held a launch party for local friends and leaders; 6 months later we have raised funds for 9 motorbikes. Eight of these bikes are out on the road being used to take the gospel to the nooks and crannies of the world, in Pakistan, Indonesia and soon one will be in Sierra Leone. Our background story can be found here

I have always believed God’s blessing should result in the work of our hands having a far greater impact than we could dream or imagine. Since Bikes4Mission first became a seed of a thought in my mind at the start of 2025 it has been a privilege to experience God’s miraculous hand of blessing; blessings as we applied for Charity status and then in raising funds to send motorcycles and scooters to Christian workers in Pakistan and Indonesia. During this time the needs have become more obvious and the opportunities greater. The challenge rings out, as Paul says “How can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how can anyone tell them without being sent?” The apostle John adds “How can they be sent without being supported and equipped?”

We are grateful for the support of the fellowships that have invited us to tell our story and also for the opportunities for me to share live on air on UCB2 and Premier Radio.

Looking to the next six months I encourage you to tell people about Bikes4Mission, to encourage your network of church groups to invite us to share stories of what God is doing in the world’s nooks and crannies, to sponsor a bike, and to support us in both finance and prayer.

INDONESIA - AUTUMN FUND RAISER

A massive thank you to Heather and the ladie at Abide church in Llanelli, South Wales who held a garden tea party (in the church hall) raising funds for two motorbikes! As a result we are delighted to provide a scooter to Mary in Indonesia and a motorcycle to Bhanwaro in Pakistan. Below is a report from Mary’s field leader in Indonesia and

Accelerating Mission in Indonesia

In Indonesia, the world’s largest island nation, distance is often a major barrier to reaching the unreached. Thankfully, a growing number of local workers are committed to bringing the Good News to communities that have never heard it before. One of the great challenges they face is transportation. Those who are called are eager to go, but purchasing a reliable motorbike is often too great an investment. Most rely on borrowing, which makes frequent visits to remote villages difficult. Having their own reliable bike transforms their ability to reach people consistently. This is why our partnership with Bikes4Mission has been such a tremendous blessing. In recent months we’ve seen first-hand how a single motorbike can multiply ministry impact.

Two of our workers, Mary and Ayu, visited a new believer and shared the story of Jesus and the two blind men with her and her adult daughter. When the daughter needed prayer for a rash and unclear vision, the three of them prayed together, and her vision became clearer.

Encounters like this are only possible because Mary now has reliable transport. Her bike allows Mary to visit disciples with Ayu, take young women from church to mentor others in this unreached people group, and also travel to the city for training and other essential needs. Stories like this are happening across Indonesia. A motorbike may seem simple, but in the hands of a dedicated missionary, it becomes a powerful tool for discipleship, church planting, and transformation.

When the body of Christ works together, some going, some giving, and all praying, the Great Commission advances in incredible ways. Thank you for helping Indonesian missionaries step into their calling and make disciples in their own nation.

PAKISTAN

We are working with several mission agencies in Pakistan including Global Recordings Network and Pakistan Sign Language Ministry supplying bikes to graduating pastors. We have confirmed reports of at least nine people giving their lives to Jesus as the result of visits using the bikes. Graduation and presentation photos of some of the bikes B4M has supplied

OUR LATEST PARTNERSHIP

is with STURR, who through their “Known” project work in Northern Pakistan with poor and dispossessed families who are like bond slaves in the brickworks. Many families do not have any paperwork and children without birth certificates officially do not exist so cannot go to school or receive medical care. The registration process is complicated and costly – this is where Known step in. B4M supplied a bike in November and two weeks later we have a report of 700 kms completed on the bike and 4 children registered. Praise the Lord!

So, we look back with thankful hearts at the last six months, praising God for his faithfulness, and expectant for the future. If you would like more details about Bike4Mission, get involved, hold a fund raiser, have someone speak at your church etc please don’t hesitate to contract us at info@bikes4mission.org

May you know God’s presence and peace as we enter Advent, and celebrate Christmas.

Blessings from Ian and the team.
